The pain that drains like an endless day of rain.”

KOOKY PETS
2010
Cover and illustrations for the book “Kooky Pets”
Inside all of us lives a secret creature called a “Kooky Pet” who catalyzes our most intimate dreams and wishful yearnings. This book comprises of a collection of imaginary portraits of these absurd and fun pet characters, including stories, and witness descriptions.

GLIMPSES FROM THE MUMMIFIED WOOD
2011
Pencils
Sketch for the book “Glimpses from the Mummified Wood”
It is no coincidence that many of the creatures that came out of my pencils have horns and goat shapes. Don’t get it wrong. It’s not that I “get my goat” all the time. I believe… It has to do with my genes and those of my ancestors, who lived in a small village called Lendoño (land of pastures), in the mountains of the Basque Country.

WAKE UP, MAIDA
2011
Acrylics
Illustration from the book “Glimpses from the Mummified Wood”
The awakening of a sort of bee queen/godmother of all fairy creatures in the wood. It’s a very special moment that only happens just once in a year in the sunset coinciding with the coming of the winter season: the rebirth of the female energy. One of the main reasons why modern society in the Western world is so unbalanced is because of the loss of the female energy. Women represent the protection of mother nature. They keep the wisdom of an instinctive deep communication with the universe.

My little girl Nova came down to water down my ego. Perfect!

SHE DIVINE TELLS ME / HARMONY
